Easy Mac 'N' Cheese

Easy Mac ’N’ Cheese is one of those comforting dishes we turn to when we need something simple, warm and satisfying. With its creamy texture and rich, cheesy flavor, it brings back memories of cozy kitchens and meals that didn’t need much to feel special.

Ingredients

  • 200 g macaroni

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 350 g ready-made carbonara or white lasagna sauce

  • 50 g sun-dried tomatoes, drain and chopped

  • 120 g wafer thin ham, sliced

  • 1 teaspoon English mustard powder

  • 50 ml double cream

  • 2 tablespoon snipped chives

  • 200 g mozzarella cheese, grated

  • salt & pepper, to taste


Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 160°C Fan / Gas Mark 4. Cook the macaroni in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water for 12 minutes or until tender, then drain well.


2. While macaroni is cooking, fry the onion for around 4 minutes, adding the garlic in the last 30 seconds or so. Add the sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, ham, mustard powder, double cream, and half of the chives and cheese. Add the salt and pepper and season to taste.


3. Place in a large ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the remaining cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Garnish with the remaining chives and serve.


Tip

If the carbonara sauce you are using has ham in it you don't need to add the extra, or you can remove it altogether if you'd like!


Serve

Serve warm, sprinkled with fresh chives and be sure to try it in this combination it pairs perfectly with a fresh radish and wild garlic salad, whose mild peppery notes and delicate garlic aroma beautifully balance the creamy texture of mac and cheese.

Jednostavne Makarone sa Sirom


Easy Mac ’N’ Cheese je onaj recept kojem se vraćamo kad želimo nešto brzo, kremasto i fino bez komplikacija, ali sa puno ukusa. Podseća na dane kada je kuhinja mirisala na topljeni sir, a tanjir se praznio i pre nego što se ohladi.


Ovo je verzija za sve one trenutke kada nemamo puno vremena, al' želimo nešto domaće i zasitno. Sa nekoliko jednostavnih sastojaka i jednim loncem, nastaje obrok koji grije i telo i raspoloženje, mali podsetnik da najlepša jela često budu i najjednostavnija.

Sastojci

  • 200 g malih makarona

  • 1 luk, seckani

  • 2 čena belog luka, sitno seckanog

  • 350 g gotovog umaka od karbonare ili belog lazanje umaka

  • 50 g sušenog paradajza, oceđenog i naseckanog

  • 120 g salame, narezane na kriške

  • 1 kašičica senfa u prahu

  • 50 ml tečnog šlaga

  • 2 kašike sveže seckanog vlasca

  • 200 g trapista, rendanog

  • sol i biber


Priprema

1. Zagrijte pećnicu na 180 ° C / 160 ° C Ventilator / 350 ° F / Oznaka plina 4. Makarone kuvati u blago posoljenoj vodi oko 12 minuta a zatim dobro ocijedite.

Toplo, posuto svežim vlascem, i obavezno probajte u ovoj kombinaciji jer savršeno se slaže uz salatu od rotkvica i medveđeg luka, koja svojom blagom pikantnošću i aromom divljeg belog luka lepo balansira kremastu teksturu Mac ’N’ Cheese-a.
